World War I brought nations against each other. In this picture, it shows the toll that the war had on the many lives that fought in it. People all across the world, were excited, scared, and proud to be enlisting in the army. Some thought that by enlisting and serving their country, it would allow them to have a bigger chance in winning the war and getting the prize that they deserve. Although, they did not know that many of those people would lose their lives. This picture is so horrific. The vast amount of crosses that represent a person who died in the war is way too big. In the picture, the crosses in the back are in such a big clump that it just looks like a big blob of white. By looking at this picture, I can understand that that World War I was the first fight that cost too many innocent lives, and took a heavy toll on all the nations. World War I, a war that brought everyone together, thus ripping everyone apart. Many have perished, and those who survived will still be reminded of the horrors of the war.
